Answering London's Questions

London - I got you covered!

I get questions from newer players and coaches all the time. A lot of the questions are centered around cradling, shooting, dodging, athleticism, and preparation.

One of my IG followers asked three great questions.

1). Shooting - when I go in to shoot, I tend to drop my stick too far back and the ball comes out.

2). Catching on the move/ under pressure - when I’m in a 1v1 situation, I tend to tense up and jab at the ball instead of ease my stick back to catch.

3). Knowing when to cut and preform certain dodges and moves - when I’m around the 8, I don’t know when to cut. When I am going in for the cut, I almost get lost. I lose focus of the ball and just focus on getting through. When approaching a defender, I don’t know which side to go to or what move to preform. Do you have any tips/ pointers or drills I can do outside of practice to help me with my success of the game?

These questions are questions I get all the time! So instead of just helping one person with this, I figured I'd create a long format response that would also serve the community!
