💡 Why Footwork and Dodging Matter

Mastering dodging and footwork is one of the most important skill sets in lacrosse — for every position. Here’s why:

1. Dodging creates opportunities.
The ability to win your 1v1 opens up scoring chances, draws slides, and creates advantages for your entire team.

2. Good footwork = better balance and control.
Players who move well stay in control under pressure, make fewer mistakes, and can change direction quickly.

3. Footwork builds confidence.
When players know they can beat a defender or protect the ball, they play with more certainty and make better decisions.

4. Better movement translates to every position.
Attackers, midfielders, defenders, and even goalies benefit from improved coordination, agility, and body mechanics.

5. It’s the foundation for long-term development.
Players who learn proper movement early progress faster, stay more consistent, and avoid forming bad habits.
